Given the reputations of both the BIA Parade of Homes and Rockford Homes in particular, it probably isn’t a huge surprise that Rockford’s contribution this year is impressive.
But for Rockford, the vast array of amenities in the Parade home represents more than just an opportunity to impress. It means a whole new set of options from the well-known central Ohio builder.
The house is the first completed home in Rockford’s new Legacy Series, and though its owner has made some customizations, a lot of the features will be available in the other series homes. For that matter, customization will also be available in other series homes, to a greater extent than is usually available with production builders like Rockford.
The 4,616-square-foot house has four bedrooms, three full and two half baths, and a three-car garage. It’s priced at $950,000.
An open floor plan on the first floor makes a living area out of a great room, kitchen and hearth room. A first-time visitor will likely have his or her eyes drawn inexorably to the frameless, LED-lit horizontal fireplace, 108 inches across, in the great room.
Granite countertops in the kitchen and hardwood floors through the living area will be standard across Legacy Series homes, though the Parade homeowner went with quartz countertops, says Rockford Director of Marketing Rae Lemley. The Parade kitchen, though, has quartz countertops, along with a waterfall island and butler’s pantry.
The hearth room, with eating area, comes complete with a standard fireplace and windows on either side of it.
The finished basement, with 11-foot ceilings, hosts an environmentally friendly bar and, during the Parade, a pool table as well.
An extra-wide set of stairs – 48 inches – leading up to the second floor is another big highlight, says Lindsay Hannahs, Rockford sales and marketing coordinator.
One of the most noticeable features of the master suite is its fireplace. Though, unlike its first-floor counterpart, it’s of the conventional shape. It draws eyeballs all on its own with its three-sided design: on one side, the bedroom; on one side, a sitting room; and a window on the side.
The master bathroom has a total of three closets, as well as a walk-in shower.
“All of the Legacy Series (bedrooms) are going to have the walk-in closets and their own bathrooms,” says Lemley.
Filling out the second floor are a laundry room, a second bedroom with full bath and a Juliet balcony, and two additional bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bath.
Out back is a brick paver patio, complete with koi pond and fire pit.
The hearth room with fireplace, master suite and private bath are among the optional features in Legacy Series houses.
Besides Verona, Legacy Series homes will also be built in Olentangy Falls East and Harvest Point, both also located in southern Delaware County.
Each home in the series comes equipped with a long list of standard features. These range from professional designed landscape, HardiePlank lap siding and vinyl single-hung low-E windows on the outside to cultured marble vanity tops in hall baths, crown molding in dining rooms and master bedrooms, double bowl undermount stainless steel kitchen sinks and 42-inch Aristokraft cabinets with dovetailed soft-close drawers.
