Westgate Home & Garden Tour
to
West Gate Masonic Lodge 2925 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204
The 2016 Westgate Home & Garden Tour is on Saturday, June 11th. The tour, its sixth year, is now a staple in an emerging swell of Westgate neighborhood attractions and activities, including the Westgate Farmers Market and regular food truck visits. This year’s tour will feature the area’s first and only registered “Little Free Library”. The owner installed it in 2015 after being inspired by so many registered libraries in her home town of Seattle. Many of the homes feature creative space-saving ideas along with inspired upcycle projects. Our guests will see many affordable ways they can transform their own homes by converting or repurposing things they already own. Visitors will see a home that underwent its first complete renovation since it was built in 1925 which includes turning the original sleeping porch into a marvelous two-room master bathroom. In addition to the eight house-with-garden stops and one garden-only stop, guests are encouraged to visit Westgate’s new boutique candy store, Firefly Sweet Shoppe at 523 Binns Boulevard (owned by one of this year’s Home & Garden Tour homeowners). In addition to 36 flavors of salt water taffy, specialty chocolates and apples, and homemade caramels, the shoppe offers community integration for individuals with development disabilities.
