As soon as you enter our garden courtyard and enjoy the refreshing sound of our three-tiered fountain you will have a sense that you are someplace special. Your feelings will be confirmed as you approach our unique artist-crafted entrance doors of Heisey glass. Upon being personally greeted and welcomed into our exceptional National Heisey Glass Museum where over 6,000 examples of Heisey’s creations await your viewing pleasure and study, you will have a perception of the opportunity for enjoyment that you are about to experience. Since 1974 the art, the technology, the glass, and the history of The A.H. Heisey & Company of Newark Ohio which produced some of the finest American made tabletop glassware continuously from 1896 to 1957 have been celebrated here.
Our original Museum space is housed in the historic 1831 King House, the Library and Research Center are under the roof of a charming Arts and Crafts bungalow and we have three floors of modern Gallery space complete with our Museum shop all in a continuous flow of discovery and enjoyment. Our custom built cherry display cases hold surprises in every direction. The Museum is air-conditioned, and handicapped accessible, and there is an abundance of off street parking for your convenience.
Of additional interest to you we offer changing displays in Gallery 3 and the dining room of the King House and our new” Heisey in Hollywood “presentation has been very popular with guests of all ages.
