Marcus Theatres is testing a new subscription program in Ohio. It's set to debut Friday at Marcus Crosswoods Cinema and Marcus Pickerington Cinema locations.
The subscription program offers consumers access to a variety of movies, discounts and savings on concessions. The MovieFlex subscription starts at $9.99 per month and $14.99 per month for the MovieFlex+ plan.
“Our guests have asked for a subscription program and we are excited to take this next step,” says Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. “We are testing two plans that allow subscribers to enjoy movies more frequently and take advantage of additional benefits just by joining. Plus, there’s an introductory offer – get a free $15 eGift card for subscribing by January 31 – that basically invites Ohio moviegoers to try this program on us for the first month. We are excited to introduce our subscription program here, and to receive customer feedback that will help evolve it before an anticipated circuit-wide roll out later this year.”
Subscribers of the MovieFlex and MovieFlex+ plans use the Marcus Theatres mobile app exclusively to manage their account/benefits.
The MovieFlex plan offers subcribers a credit each month for one adult ticket, access to unused credits which rollover, 10 percent off concessions, one monthly companion ticket for $9.99 and all the benefits of Marcus Theatres' Magical Movie Rewards loyalty program, including free refills on fountain drinks, no online/mobile ticket fees and access to early movie screenings.
The MovieFlex+ plan includes the same benefits in addition to unlimited admission to a variety of films, discounted admission to all other films and free admission on Tuesdays.
Both plans invite more regular moviegoing, and the MovieFlex+ plan offers a variety of content too, including special films, one-time features, classic films and mainstream movies.
