Otterbein University has launched the Otterbein Turf and Track Project to fundraise for its planned renovation of the Ballenger Field and McVay Track.
The $2 million renovation will allow for up to 3,000 hours of usage in the facilities, as opposed to the current 165 hours, and will provide more practice and playing space for all of the university’s sports teams and other student activities.
The university’s field and track are home to almost 550 Otterbein athletes each year. With that level of importance, it’s easy to see why Otterbein is trying to revamp its athletic facilities for its students.
The new track will bring fresh life to Otterbein’s track and field team, which has not hosted a home event since 2007.
Information on the project, including donation information, can be found at www.otterbein.edu/.
