Top professional cyclists from all over the U.S. and around the world showcase athleticism in its finest form at the 20th annual Tour de Grandview Cycling Classic, scheduled for June 28.
Organized by the non-profit Grandview Community Association, the Tour de Grandview Cycling Classic includes races up to 40 miles, with pro riders topping out at speeds of 35 miles per hour.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., races include rides for both professional men and women, as well as amateurs. The new criterium course starts and finishes on West First Avenue between Glendale and Hope Avenues, and includes the well-known Bank Block on Grandview Avenue, as well as Willard and Second Avenues.
Spectators can watch the races and also enjoy the Grandview Hop Street Party, featuring live bands, food and a bier garten, as well as kids’ races and a “Fun Lap” that allows the public a chance to ride the same course the pros will.
