This spring, Thurber House is offering adults the opportunity to discover and develop their inner writer.
The organization is providing six adult creative writing workshops on Monday nights from March 30 to May 4. Each course will focus on a different area of writing and will be taught by acclaimed authors, editors and professors.

Workshops will cover the entire spectrum of creative writing, including lessons on getting started, creating compelling characters and publishing. Through fun and educational techniques, instructors will offer advice on how to address the biggest challenges writers face, such as keeping a story’s momentum going throughout its entirety.
The classes will be taught at Thurber Center at 91 Jefferson Ave. and cost $45 to attend. For those interested in attending three or more classes, Thurber House offers a discount of $40 per class. Only those age 18 and over may participate.
In addition to the six scheduled workshops, Susanne Jaffe, creative director of Thurber House, will teach a special 90-minute course on writing sex versus erotica on June 11. This Thurber House After Dark session will be held at Thurber Center and is $35 to attend. Wine and chocolates will be offered at the experience.
Thurber House’s mission is to celebrate the written word for the education and entertainment of the broadest possible audience. For more information, a list of workshops and to register for Thurber House’s adult writing workshop series, please visit www.thurberhouse.org.
