All good things must come to an end, but that doesn’t mean a little fun can’t be had on the way out.
This is the spirit behind rock outfit Anberlin’s final tour, which will stop by the Newport Music Hall Nov. 10.
“I think we realized that our personal lives were pulling us in different directions, and that if we kept Anberlin going, it would ultimately suffer,” says Anberlin bassist Deon Rexroat. “Once we decided to end, doing a final tour and saying a proper goodbye seemed appropriate after 12 years.”
The Final Tour will end Nov. 26, culminating in Orlando, Fla.
Before the farewell shows started, the band completed a summer run at the 2014 Vans Warped Tour.
“We had a lot of good friends on the tour and made new friends as well, so it was a good summer,” Rexroat says. “It was a very good way to kick off this final run being able to say goodbye to friends we'll never play with again.”
Anberlin is best known for hits “Feel Good Drag,” “Paperthin Hymn” and “Godspeed.”
