July 2 marks the opening of the latest exhibition in the Studios on High Gallery, Seeking Balance: Regeneration through Art. Artists Marty Husted and Jeanie Coy Auseon explore the spaces left by personal loss through their collection of images.
Husted is a Columbus-based fine artist and graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, where she received a bachelor’s of fine arts in illustration. Her paintings are primarily influenced by her environment and she spends time observing nature. Husted utilizes her imagination to create a fresh perspective on the world that transcends realism.
Husted has been featured in a number of galleries, such as the Alt Gallery in Sedona, the High Road Gallery and Studios in Worthington and, of course, the Studios on High Gallery. Among her pieces at the exhibition will be a painting called Life Force.
Auseon is a fine artist who earned her doctorate in art education at The Ohio State University. Auseon has a rich history of teaching young artists throughout central Ohio.
Auseon’s many accolades include the 2002 Ohio Supervision Art Educator of the Year, Windermere School’s Teacher of the Year and her role in creating a Christmas ornament for the Historic Landmarks White House Christmas Tree.
Within this exhibit are pieces by Auseon such as Floral Regeneration and Celebration: Fragmented Regeneration.
The dynamic work of the two women will be on display at the Studios on High Gallery through the end of July. The gallery hop is July 2 from 6-10 p.m. Guests will have the chance to experience the unique works as well as meet the artists.
