Packrat Comics in Hilliard is giving comic fans something to get animated about.
The shop will host the 2014 Free Comic Book Day at their establishment May 2 with the help of Doug Jones, most notorious for his work as the Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Jones is also the “life and soul” of Abe Sapien in Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
"With the continued rise of comics in movies and television, Doug Jones seemed to be a perfect fit as our guest of honor for FCBD to help celebrate the event,” says Jamie Colegrove, owner of Packrat Comics in a press release. “Giving out thousands of comics every year and sharing our passion of pop culture with the community inspires us to make Free Comic Book Day a celebration of that passion.”
Voice actor Mike Pollock will also be at the event. His voice is heard throughout Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons and video games. The Confused Greenies Theater Company will perform superhero improve and Doctor Who sketches during the day.
