The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has lots to offer families at the Scioto Mile this summer.
Come to the Bicentennial Park Performing Arts Pavilion for Rhythm on the River on Friday evenings. This series of ten musical performances includes a variety of genres, including bluegrass, soul, Latin jazz and rock. There will also be a fashion show called, “Fashion Rocks Columbus,” an acrobatic performance from the Golden Dragon Acrobats, and a performance from the Ballet Met Columbus.
Performances are free and food and beverage sales begin at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesdays at Bicentennial Park are for kids, as AEP and Sunny 95 present Fountainside from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Columbus favorites such as COSI and the Columbus Zoo are just two of the many organizations bringing fun activities to Fountainside this summer. Columbus sports teams, the Clippers, the Crew and the Blue Jackets, will also be making appearances.
Finally, be sure to come out to the Jazz and Rib Fest from July 19 to 21. There will be 23 barbecue pit masters serving up ribs and more, while three stages will showcase international and local jazz artists.
Admission is free and each day begins at 11 a.m., located in the Arena District at McFerson Commons and North Bank Park.
