You can’t always get what you want, but you can see English rock legends the Rolling Stones perform live in Columbus this week.
On May 26, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood kicked off their Zip Code tour with a sold-out show in San Diego. They will be playing in 15 cities total, and their next stop is Ohio Stadium on Saturday.
The band’s most recent North American stadium tour ended in 2007, but that isn’t the only thing that makes this tour particularly exciting. The last time the Shoe served as a concert venue was back in 2003. After 12 years, it will finally be packed with rock and roll fans once again.
The show will feature Kid Rock as the opener. There will be a section of the stage that extends deep into the audience to allow for more interaction with fans, as well as video screens and special effects.
In addition to their Zip Code tour, the Rolling Stones are giving fans something to celebrate with the re-release of the Stones’ 1971 Sticky Fingers, one of their most successful albums. It features classics such as “Brown Sugar” and “Wild Horses,” and the rerelease is available in several formats, some of which include tracks that were previously unavailable to the public.
Tickets are available at the Schottenstein Center Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster.
