Music lovers, rejoice! This weekend, starting June 17, marks the first-ever PNC Arts Alive MAC Summer Music Festival.
The free festival will be spread across two stages, the festival stage and the acoustic stage, on the lawn outside the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center in Worthington.
For opening night on Friday, the festival stage will host jazz artists. James Gaiters Muv-MENT is set to take the stage at 6:30 and Urban Jazz Coalition will perform at 8 p.m. Bluegrass artist Adam Schlenker will perform on the acoustic stage at 7:30 p.m.
Aside from the music, opening night will also feature a picnic celebration with a variety of food trucks ranging from burgers to Asian food. Beer and wine will also be served throughout the weekend.
Saturday boasts a full schedule for the festival stage, which will be hosting four contemporary musical acts beginning at 4 p.m. The Deeptones will kick off the night with T. Wong to take the stage at 6 p.m. Songs at the Center Songwriters will take the stage at 7:45 p.m. with the Jared Mahone Band closing the night starting at 9 p.m.
The acoustic stage will host songwriters from local music organization, Songs at the Center at 5 and 7:45 p.m.
Sunday's events focus on classical music, presenting classical summer pops at the festival stage. The Chamber Music Connection is set to take the stage at 2 p.m. and McConnell Arts Chamber Orchestra will go on at 6 p.m.
