The date has officially been set for the 12th annual Westy Open Paddle Tennis Tournament and Post Party. On March 9, 2013, co-ed paddle matches will begin in the morning and last throughout the day, followed by a Post Party. TWIG III of Nationwide Children’s Hospital hosts the Open, and proceeds from the event benefit the hospital’s pediatric cancer program.
The location of the matches is determined by skill, and matches will take place at Columbus Country Club, New Albany Country Club, Rocky Fork Hunt Club, Scioto Country Club and Worthington Hills Country Club. This year, there will be a Beginner’s Clinic offered at Elysium Tennis Club in Plain City. After a day of competition, the event will commence at The Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a raffle. The party will last from 6-9 p.m. All are invited to compete in the tournament or attend the fun and relaxed post party.
TWIG III is one of many groups of women, under Together With Important Goals, who promote and host events in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The mission of TWIG is to provide the highest quality care to all children and families regardless of their ability to pay. Founded in 1919, the women of TWIG have since raised more than $27 million through numerous fundraising events. Today, TWIG boasts a member population exceeding 1,000 among more than 60 TWIG groups across Central Ohio.
