The award-winning musical Once will visit the Palace Theatre this summer.
Based on the film of the same name, the story centers on the relationship forged between an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant that builds upon their love of music. The show features music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. The show's performers play their own instruments for the audience.
While the film earned an Academy Award in 2007, the musical has racked up its share of accolades. In 2013, the musical won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. It also earned eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Running for more than 1,100 Broadway performances, the show was named Best Musical by the New York Drama Critics' Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards.
