Homes are one of the most personalized things someone can own. The creative touches that make a living space feel like more than just four walls can be exciting. Westgate’s 2015 Home & Garden Tour will allow attendees to get a glimpse into the private worlds of some of the neighborhood’s most creative residents.
The tour, 2-6 p.m. on June 13, shows how full of the “unexpected” the beautiful Columbus neighborhood is. For example, there is a homestead that houses chickens and a vegetable garden, a house with a renovated 1930s style kitchen and a garage that has been converted into a full living area. These dwellings may not look particularly astonishing on the outside, but taking a look inside will make it clear that some Westgate homeowners get very creative when it comes to where they live, whether it is a modern touch or a blast from the past.
In fact, the tour will feature a bit of history right out of the gate. As a new feature for this year, it will begin at Westgate Masonic Temple, which is located on the former grounds of a Civil War POW camp, Camp Chase.
Advanced tickets can be purchased for $10 and tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $12.
