Young talent from the senior class at New Albany High School will have the honor of exhibiting their award-winning work next week at New Albany’s Hayley Gallery.
Beginning with a reception from 5-8 p.m., Feb. 21, the Gallery will feature 30 works, with the represented media ranging from paintings, fiber, and mixed media pieces.
According to owner Hayley Deeter, this will be the gallery’s third year running in which it has honored NAHS students by exhibiting their art in a professional space. By giving these young artists the opportunity to showcase their talent in a revered setting, Hayley Gallery is priming them for entry into art careers with valuable experience interacting with galleries and registering their work in a public reception.
“All the pieces are award-winning and have received silver or gold keys in competition at (Columbus College of Art and Design),” Savage says. “It’s a culmination of all the projects the seniors at New Albany have done. This is the best of the best of the seniors’ work.”

“Best of the best” is an apt description for these talented young artists’ work, as their winning entries into the Central Ohio Regional Scholastic Art Awards comprise only a few dozen of over 1,400 individual submissions in the regional competition.
Attend the event at Hayley Gallery next Saturday to see what these young minds are up to, and to meet some of them before their art brings them national attention.
