Eldorado Scioto Downs’ 2016 Summer Concert Series continues with another country music star. Special guest Jamey Johnson will perform at the venue on Aug. 20.
Since his debut in the early 2000s, Johnson has kept busy as one of the great artists of the country music scene. He has released six studio albums, such as The Lonesome Song and The Guitar Song. The Lonesome Song was certified platinum for one million in sales and The Guitar Song was certified gold.
In 2013 he released a tribute album to late songwriter Hank Cochran called Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran. The Grammy-nominated album featured collaborations with other noted artists such as Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello, Ray Price, Allison Krause and many more.
An accomplished singer-songwriter, Johnson has received praise and numerous awards during his career. An eleven-time Grammy nominee, he has also won two Song of the Year awards for his songs “Give It Away” and “In Color.” Both songs received the awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
