Make the most out of the final weeks of summer with the Lazy Daze of Summer Festival.
The 23rd annual event is set to take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the lawn and streets surrounding Grandview Library.
The festival will feature more than 50 artists exhibiting their handcrafted items, free music and art activities for kids, and, of course, festival food.
A range of performers will be performing throughout the day. The featured performer is Matthew Ball, the Boogie Woogie Pianoman, who will be performing from 3-5 p.m. Hear steel pianist Sam McCoy at 10 a.m. and watch Irish dancer Maria Murphy take the stage at 11:30 a.m. Grandview Parks and Recreation's Jolly Steppers and Habeeba's Belly Dancers will take the stage and 12 and 12:30 p.m., respectively. For street entertainment, the Jest Jugglers will perform from 1-3 p.m.
The festival isn't only for fun and games, though. There will be a silent auction of donated items to benefit the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Arts Council's scholarship fund. Over the last five years, it has awarded over $4,500 to local students.
Learn more about the community by visiting booths of festival sponsors and checking out the community showcase of local not-for-profit organizations. From noon to 3 p.m., you can also learn about the community's history by attending the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Historical Society's open house.
In addition, the Friends of the Grandview Library will be having a book and AV sale throughout the day.
The Lazy Daze of Summer Festival is presented by the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Arts Council in cooperation with Grandview Library and City of Grandview Heights. Admission and parking are free.
