On Nov. 6 at 8 p.m., L.A.-based artists Kneebody and Daedelus combine to form Kneedelus, an experimental sextet blending jazz and electronica. The group will perform as part of the ongoing Jazz Series taking place at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Kneebody is an instrumental jazz quintet consisting of keyboardist Adam Benjamin, trumpeter Shane Endsley, electric bassist Kaveh Rastegar, drummer Nate Wood and saxophonist Ben Wendel. Formed in 2001, the group has since released six albums plus two live volumes and earned consistent critical praise.

Daedelus, the stage name of electronica producer and keyboardist Alfred Darlington, is known for his live performances and improvisations.
The two groups have collaborated previously, including a performance in 2009.
“Together they bring the worlds of jazz and electronic/EDM and indie rock sounds,” says Jennifer Wray, marketing and media assistant at the Wexner Center. “It’s a performance you won’t see anywhere else in town.”
The show takes place in the center’s intimate Performance Space, a cabaret-style venue in
which guests can enjoy refreshments and get up close to the stage.
Wray says Kneedelus’ sound is sure to wow audiences.
“They function together as one performing unit. They’re stand out musicians,” Wray says. “They’ve got terrific sounds individually, and together their styles blend really nicely. It’s a complementary sound unlike any other thing happening in the music industry.”
Admission is $17 for members, $20 for the general public and $13 for students.
Admission to the gallery is free with a ticket to any same-day event at the Wexner Center.
