2. Actors’ Theatre presents Captain Blood (May 21 – June 21, 8 p.m.)

Actors’ Theatre kicks off its 2015 summer Schiller Park season with the swashbuckling story of Dr. Peter Blood, who falls in with pirates after being sent from England to Barbados for treason. Slated for 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the play, is a celebration of the life of longtime troupe Artistic Director John S. Kuhn, who died in February. http://www.theactorstheatre.org
3. Ohio Village Opening Day: Celebrating the World of Ohio (May 23, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.)

BONUS. Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club Field of Heroes (May 22-25)

The seventh annual Field of Heroes is a display of 3,000 American flags, there for anyone who wants a quiet moment to reflect on the heroes in his or her life. Events during the course of the weekend include opening, memorial, closing and flag retirement ceremonies; readings of names; a free concert by the Central Ohio Brass Band; and a 5K. http://www.fieldofheroes.org
