The movie experience in Columbus, Ohio, is becoming more inclusive.
After Drexel Theatre converted their theatres to digital audio, they now offer closed captioning services for the hearing impaired using the Sony entertainment glasses. The glasses use holographic technology to project the closed caption on the lenses. The text appears to hover over the screen at a comfortable viewing distance so that patrons don’t suffer from eye fatigue making the experience similar as if the film was subtitled.
The new Sony entertainment glasses are available at the Drexel Theatre box office at no additional charge. However, not all films’ formats are compatible with the system.
Drexel Theatres is the second theatre after the Regal Georgesville Square 16 to offer this latest technology. Drexel Theatre is known for showing independent and foreign films in Central, Ohio and is located at 2254 East Main Street in Columbus.
