The musical, narrated by Max the Dog, follows the mean-spirited Grinch with a heart two sizes too small as he plots to steal Christmas from the Whos of Whoville. The Grinch discovers that stealing Christmas is much more than he had bargained for when he encounters sweet Cindy Lou-Who.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas broke box office records for two years in a row on Broadway, and since then has drawn more than 1.2 million theatregoers from all over the country while on tour. The musical features hit songs such as “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.”
The 2015 production will feature sets designed by John Lee Beatty and costumes designed
by Robert Morgan, inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original book, as well as the book and music of Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason.
The performance is directed by Matt August and choreographed by Bob Richard, with choreography based on the Broadway original by John DeLuca and three-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien.
