Mark your calendars for May 17.
Although Jimmy Orrante is taking his final bows with BalletMet, Orrante and fellow dancers Attila Bongar and Gabriel Smith are lending their talents to Dancing for the Cure.

Dancing for the Cure is an annual fundraiser that brings together both local and national dancers as well as other artists, such as musicians from the Columbus Symphony, for an evening of performances. Proceeds benefit a local health nonprofit or research organization.
The matinee performance begins at 1:30 p.m., while the curtain for the evening performance will rise at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s beneficiary, the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, is an organization that hits home for Orrante. His son, 11-year-old Isaac, lives with the disorder.
“Our mission is to support the community while also providing a creatively rich environment for artists and viewers alike,” the fundraiser’s website says. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to support our community by means of cultivating our art form, and providing an excellent performance.”
Tickets start at $25 for general admission, and reach $1,000 for a fouette sponsorship. A fouette sponsorship includes four VIP tickets, a name or logo on the program and a behind the scenes sneak peek.
