Classics such as Beethoven's Fifth and Romeo and Juliet are some of the performances that are included in the Columbus Symphony's 2013-14 Masterworks and Pops Season Lineup. The Ohio Theatre will host eight of the Masterworks concerts while the Southern Theatre will host four and all of the Pops concerts will be performed at the Ohio Theatre.
This seasons lineup includes Opera Columbus, Columbus Children's Symphony Chorus, BalletMet and a variety of other musical performers. Many of the performances are near holidays such as Valentine's Day and Easter.
The Masterworks Season Opener Special Event on October 5 is Mahler's Resurrection and will feature Jean-Marie Zeitouni, conductor, Columbus Symphony Chorus, Dominique Labelle, soprano, and Sasha Cooke, mezzo-soprano. The symphony address life and death issues and promises to be unforgettable.
The Pops Season will open with The Midtown Men on November 9 with hits from The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Motown.
