Dublin Arts Council
Dublin Arts Council invites all students from kindergarten to grade 12 to participate in a poster contest based on sculptor Alfred Tibor’s life motto, “Hatred Doesn’t Work.”
Tibor, 95, is a Holocaust and Russian prisoner-of-war survivor who creates art with the goal to capture the celebration of life. Students are encouraged to submit posters that portray their interpretation of Tibor’s work to Dublin Arts Council this spring. The subject matter can include anything from racial tension to acceptance - any topic that students find meaningful in their lives.
The winning poster will be professionally printed and shared to encourage Columbus residents to attend the free exhibition and see Tibor’s work for themselves. Other posters will be on display during the exhibition Alfred Tibor: Hatred Doesn’t Work, available from Sept. 22 to Dec. 18.
To be considered, all posters must be submitted to Dublin Arts Council by April 24. Students can deliver or mail their posters to 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin, OH 43016, or email them to programmgr@dublinarts.org. Posters should be no larger than 11-by-17 inches, and there is no fee to enter the contest.
