Sunday at Scioto will have a bit of a brassy kick this weekend when the Dublin Silver Band brings their horns to the stage at Scioto Park.
The Dublin Silver Band is Dublin's elite 32-member all-brass band. Volunteers from all over Central Ohio bring their talent and drive to this professional-level competition band.
The band won the Roy Newsome Award for Best Performance of a March at the 2011 U.S. Brass Band Open Championships for their rousing performance of “Mercury”.
This British-style brass band masterfully features everything from classic Irish tunes such as “Alladale”, from Philip Sparke's Hymn of the Highlands, to classic favorites like “When You Wish Upon A Star”.
For more information about the band, contact Tim Jameson, Director of the Dublin Silver Band.
Concerts take place Sunday evenings 7 – 8:30 p.m. The events are free of charge and on-site donations will be accepted.
