The second annual All Star Bowl Celebrity Football charity event, co-sponsored by Healthy New Albany, gives participants the chance to take the field with former players from The Ohio State University.
The event takes place Friday evening at Veteran’s Field, New Albany High School’s football stadium, and raises money for After-School All-Stars Ohio, an organization that provides after-school programs in sports and academic help to underserved students. The football game is also being held for the benefit of SKNLUV, a central Ohio organization with the mission of fighting skin cancer and raising skin-health awareness.
Those who donate $500 or more for the All Star Bowl will be able to play a flag-football scrimmage with former football players including Maurice Clarett, Joey Galloway, Beanie Wells and Matt Wilhelm.
Gates are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m., and kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Viewing tickets are $20, and admission for children 12 and under is free.
