Gallery of Echoes: ColumbUS Public Art Project returns for one week only on the Shadowbox Live stage. If you missed the popular production of Gallery of Echoes at the Columbus Commons on Sept. 6, you’ll get to have another chance on Nov. 3-6. This unique performance brings together both live and visual art.
In 2014, Gallery of Echoes took visual art pieces from the Columbus Museum of Art’s permanent collection and paired them with original music from Shadowbox’s band, Light.
“What we realized was this didn’t have to be a one-time production,” says Stev Guyer, executive producer and CEO of Shadowbox Live. “We didn’t just create a show, we created an entirely new performance genre.”
Earlier this year, Shadowbox Live performed Gallery of Echoes: ColumbUS Public Art Project, which was similar to the performance in collaboration with the Columbus Museum of Art. The key difference was that Shadowbox used art from twenty local artists rather than the museum.
“These are local artists; not famous, not established, just amazingly talented local artists trying to make a living with their talents,” says Guyer. “We want to help lift them up, help them get a little more into the spotlight and, in turn, show the world what an amazing art scene we have in this city.”
Gallery of Echoes: ColumbUS Public Art Project will run Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m., two shows on Nov. 4 at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m., Nov. 5 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and on Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
Tickets to this popular event won’t last long, so don’t miss out on your chance to see Gallery of Echoes: ColumbUS Public Art Project. Tickets range from $20-40. For more information or to make reservations, call 614-416-7625 or visit www.shadowboxlive.org.
