What a time to be alive for all music lovers! The Independents’ Day Festival will held on Sept. 17-18 in East Franklinton, and is dedicated to the celebration of independent artists and artistry in Columbus. A whopping 90 artists will perform during the two days, offering a great opportunity to let loose, have fun with family and friends.
Among the 90 performers are Rashad, Cleveland’s own Cloud Nothings and House of Heroes from Hilliard, performing across five stages. One such stage, Cover my Stage, will feature only cover artists; Carrie Ayers will take the stage as Adele, Brave Weather as Amy Winehouse and Liner Notes as Radiohead.

Of course, a festival is nothing without the food. Independents’ Day will feature a beer garden from local Ohio craft breweries like Seventh Son, Zauber and Four String. Food trucks will also be on site to meet every appetite, from Daredevil Dogs and Hot Chicken Takeover to Mikey’s Late Night Slice and Loops. There will also be activities ranging from independent film showings, a podcast tent, a free yoga class on Sunday, live graffiti painting, LED-equipped bike rides; and that’s just a few. The festival is family-friendly and a child area is available as well.
The Independents’ Day Festival is free and open to the public. Musicians take the stage at noon on Sept. 17 and 18. Click here for more information about the festival. Click here to view volunteer opportunities at the festival.
