It’s Shakespeare, revamped! The Columbus Dance Theatre is meshing dance with the words of William Shakespeare with its new production of Hamlet Prism. The show brings Hamlet to the audience in an urban setting at the Fisher Theatre, allowing ticketholders to experience the story of Hamlet through music and dance in a contemporary context.
Composed by Carpe Diem String Quartet founding member, chamber musician and arranger Korine Fujiwara, the show offers audiences the chance to experience a unique soundscape. Dancers will be backed by the Carpe Diem String Quartet’s performance of Fujiwara’s original soundscape.
Tim Veach, artistic director, choreographer and dancer at the Columbus Dance Theatre, actress Christina Kirk and the Columbus Dance Theatre dancers will perform this re-imagined classic with stunning and dynamic landscaping.
The concert will be help on April 8 at 8 pm and the 9 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Fisher Theatre. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for seniors 60 and up. Students can purchase discount tickets for $15. Tickets can be purchased online at the Columbus Dance Theatre or by calling 614-849-0227.
