Marti Steffy, Spring Dance
Art Access Gallery’s new gallery opening starts Oct. 14.
The exhibit will feature new works in a variety of mediums by four local artists who all graduated from The Ohio State University – Judy Favret Friday, Paula Rubinstein, Marti Steffy and Joel O’Dorisio.
Judy Favret Friday grew up in Columbus and graduated from OSU in 1980. She has worked with both oil and ink, and her works have been featured in exhibitions in Ohio, Massachusetts and Connecticut, where she currently lives.
Paula Rubinstein’s career in art began as a medical illustrator after receiving her bachelor of fine arts from OSU. She returned to oil painting in order to have more freedom with color and pattern. Rubinstein uses her passion for flowers and color and to create striking images with oil on the canvas.
Joel O'Dorisio, Yellow Cherry Wedge
Marti Steffy’s work has been featured across the country. Her abstract oil paintings on a variety of subject matters have won numerous awards and are in over 200 residential and corporate collections. Steffy’s works have been featured in exhibitions at the Art Access Gallery since 2000, and her most recent works are inspired by her travels to the Mediterranean.
Joel O’Dorisio has practiced sculpting and glass blowing since 1988. His works tend to focus on humanity and the natural environment and how the two interact. O’Dorisio’s works have been featured in exhibits across the country, including the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, and he is currently an instructor on glass art at Bowling Green State University.
Art Access Gallery is located at 540 S. Drexel Ave. in Columbus, Ohio and is open from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday. The new exhibit runs from Oct. 14-Nov. 26.
