5. The Candle Lab
Valentine’s Day at The Candle Lab definitely smells sweet. Couples enjoying High Street can make two of their own candles with the Candle Lab's huge array of scent options and premium glassware. With complimentary chocolates and libations, smiling couples will be treated to a Polaroid photo of their night for them to take home. However, if you’re sitting down to dinner in the district afterwards, the Candle Lab will deliver your candles and your photo tableside after they’ve done cooling, just in time for dessert.
6. Love in the Time of Comedy
For a laugh, head out to MadLab Theatre & Gallery as their improv troupe, Full Frontal Nudity, retells your best and worst first date stories from a different point of view. Tickets are only $10 per person and are available online.
7. BalletMet and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra present: Jazz Moves Take 2
Directed by Byron Stripling, this performance by BalletMet and Columbus Jazz Orchestra creates a mesmerizing fusion of dance and music perfect for Valentine’s Day. Jazz lovers and dance devotees alike will be jamming to the most American of all art forms. Tickets are $28-$45, and the show is at 2 p.m., Feb. 14 at the Capitol Theatre, Riffe Center.
8. Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Skate at Skate Zone 71
From 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., featuring Radio Disney Music. Wear something red or pink for 99¢ admission to this family friendly Valentine’s Day party for kids at Skate Zone 71. Skate, make Valentines, play fun games and win great prizes.
9. Take a walk around the Scioto Mile
Couples can experience the Mile via bike or foot and visit some of the new and fun areas of downtown including the Scioto Mile Fountain, Scioto Greenway Recreational Trails and more.
10. Get the Picture
Have your picture taken at the Ohio Historical Center and use the image to create a vintage Valentine's Day card. While you are there, check out the diverse collection of exhibits. Finish your Valentine's Day with a romantic dinner at Ohio Village, the building adjacent to the center, which has Victorian-themed, costumed greeters and entertainment.
