Westerville Symphony's final Masterworks concert for the season June 6

 

Music to symphony fans' ears? You bet.

 

The Westerville Symphony at Otterbein College will present "The Excitement," with music director Peter Stafford Wilson, at 8 p.m. June 6 at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St.

 

The concert is the final performance in the 2008-2009 Ron Lykins Masterworks Series. The music to be performed includes the overture from Donna Diana, an opera written in 1894 by Czech composer Emil von Reznicek. It will be followed by Piano Concerto No. 2 by American composer Lowell Liebermann (with pianist and Wittenberg University professor Christopher Durrenberger). The concert will end with Symphony No. 7 in A Major by Ludwig van Beethoven.
