For the second time since 2007, the City of Westerville has made Money Magazine's Top 100 list of America's "Best Places to Live." The results, published on Monday, rank Westerville at No. 15, jumping 31 spots from its No. 46-ranking two years ago.

Westerville is also the only Central Ohio community to make the list, which ranks municipalities with populations under 50,000 people. The next highest Ohio community is Highland Heights (near Cleveland) at No. 18.

Money cited Westerville’s parks and historic uptown, as well its proximity to Columbus, as reasons for the Top 20 distinction. The magazine also mentions Westerville’s commitment to economic development and its efforts to attract businesses with tax incentives for new construction.

City officials say they are excited by Westerville's ranking this year.

"Westerville is a unique combination of heritage and contemporary living, and we’re proud that Money noticed the purposeful balance here,” says City Manager David Collinsworth. “As much as we are protecting and restoring our history, we are actively planning to keep Westerville one of the most commercially thriving and inviting communities in the Midwest.”
