Columbus' colorful arts community presents a fresh round of exhibits
Beginning Nov. 9, the Dublin Arts Council Gallery will present Masayuki Miyajima: Refined Function. The exhibit showcases ceramic works by Masayuki Miyajima, who combines age-old materials, techniques and shapes in new ways. Visit www.dublinarts.org.


The Ohio Art League presents Chicks with Big Rollers Nov. 4-24, an exhibit featuring works by Hilary Hilario, Kathy McGhee, Sherrill Massey, Mariana Smith and Sophie Knee. Visit www.oal.org.

The Ohio Craft Museum will be home to the holiday exhibition Gifts of the Craftsmen beginning Nov. 14. This annual fundraising exhibition and sale will feature works in clay, metal, fiberglass and wood by 50 artists from across the country. Visit www.ohiocraft.org.

Beginning Nov. 9, Ohio Wesleyan University will present photographs by Laura Young and mixed media works by Arthur Hash at Ross Art Museum. Visit news.owu.edu.   


Through Nov. 12, Rebecca Ibel Gallery at Miranovawill feature new works by Jonathan Hammer, including a double-sided leather panel, pastel drawings and a suite of etchings. Inspired by Dada and Surrealism, Hammer’s work explores historic, religious and artistic events. Visit www.rebeccaibel.com.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, Gallery 202, Partners in Art, Inc. will welcome Origin Winds: Gazing Backward – Blazing Outward beginning Nov. 3. Kiaca Gallery will be home to oil paintings by Ron Anderson. 
 

Art at 185 will show Donna Burns’ new paintings in watercolor and acrylic as well as works by John Ruthven, a wildlife artist from Cincinnati.


Through Nov. 19, Otterbein University’s Leslie H. and Ethyl Rose Miller Gallery will feature The Santiago and Valparaiso Projects: New Work by Nicholas Hill. The exhibit will include recent collages, prints and drawings from Professor Nicholas Hill’s sabbatical leave in Chile. Fisher Gallery will present Vanitas: A Portfolio of Prints and Poems, which features aquatint prints by Audrey Niffenegger in response to ten poems by John Donne, John Dryden, Anne Bradstreet and other authors. Kussmaul Gallery will display a series of paintings by James Young throughout November. Young, who works with oil on canvas or oil on wood panel, is known for mysterious, high-contrast paintings. Through Nov. 30, the Marcia Evans Gallery presents the show “Trees,” featuring artists:= David Berry, Michael Kaiser and Linda Wesner. The show will represent various styles and interpretation of trees.

 

Six Solos, a series of solo exhibitions by six different international artists will be on display starting Nov. 9 at the Wexner Center for the Arts. The exhibition, featuring artists Erwin Redl, Megan Geckler, Tobias Putrih/MOS, Gustavo Godoy, Katy Moran, and Joel Morrison, will display a variety of different mediums of art both inside and outside of the arts center. Congratulations to Tim and Jim Keny, of Keny Galleries, who received the Ohioana Career Award, an accolade that honors “a native Ohioan who has, and continues to have, an outstanding career in the arts and humanities.” They were honored Oct. 16 with the prestigious award for their accomplishments and advocacy both nationally and internationally.
