With the help of a new program, Upper Arlington residents can make a date to enjoy local art and cuisine.
Lauren Emond, arts coordinator for the City of Upper Arlington, developed “Art in UA, Eat in UA,” a program by which residents can obtain coupons to local restaurants when they attend a Concourse Gallery reception.
Art in UA, Eat in UA began with the Concourse reception for Upper Arlington Middle Schools on March 7, with Carsonie’s Stromboli and Pizza Kitchen on Lane Avenue as the restaurant partner. About 100 guests attended the reception, many of whom took advantage of their coupon to Carsonie’s.
Emond believes the program will make local arts more accessible and will help link many community facets enjoyed by residents. More UA residents and local restaurants are welcome to participate and experience the program’s rewards.
“We value the businesses and people that make UA their home and we see coming together to support one another as another way to create lasting connections with residents and guests of the neighborhood,” Emond says. “The continuation of this program will hopefully become a staple in the community.”
Feedback about the program is welcome. For more information, upcoming receptions and restaurant partners, visit the Cultural Arts Division/Exhibit page at www.uaoh.net
