TV Party to benefit Relay For Life

Supporters of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Pickerington will plan to raise money for their event and have a little fun when they host a screening of ABC’s special Relay For Life episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on Jan. 31.

“We’re always looking for ways to get the word out about what the American Cancer Society has available as far as programs, and Relay For Life is one of the groups that helps with funding by raising money for research,” says Colleen Pospishil, a planning committee member.

The Relay For Life Home Edition Watching Party will be held at Rule 3, located at 650 Windmiller Dr. Beginning at 6 p.m., a special dinner menu has been selected for attendees, and 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Relay For Life of Pickerington.

“This kickoff is about having fun getting people together, giving out information about the American Cancer Society, and celebrating survivors. We’re taking part in what the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Relay For Life episode is doing,” Pospishil says.

The show, which begins at 8 p.m., is building a new home for the Creasey family of Davidson County, N.C. The public is welcome to come and watch and support Relay For Life of Pickerington, which will host its main event June 19 at 10 a.m. For more information, visit www.RelayForLife.org/Pickerington.
