It’s a secret location. Only a select number of people will have a chance to enter.
No, it’s not a secret society. Or a private government meeting.
It’s the Drambuie Den.
After successful runs in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Canada, Columbus is next on the list for this highly mysterious promotion.
Everyone who receives an invitation to the Drambuie Den gets to spend an evening there, says spokesperson Giles Hanson. At the Den, guests are able to get a taste of the Drambuie Pursuit, while sampling complimentary Drambuie cocktails and hors d’oeurves.
The Drambuie Pursuit is a promotion that guests can enter to win “the ultimate adventure across the Scottish Highlands.”
During the event, 10 teams of four adults will race each other over 100 miles in speedboat, dirt buggy races, hill climbing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, biking and other activities, all racing to win the trophy.
It’s all connected to the history of drink.
Drambuie came to the U.S. more than 260 years ago as a custom-created drink for Bonnie Prince Charlie of Scotland. After he unsuccessfully tried to regain the British throne, the Prince escaped across the Scottish Highlands to France. To his loyal followers, he offered the secret recipe of Drambuie.
Drambuie is a honey- and herb-flavored golden scotch whisky liqueur made from aged malt whisky, heather honey and a secret blend of herbs and spices.
People over the age of 21 can enter the contest by visiting www.pursuitof1745.com. From there, a certain number of guests will be invited, and sent an e-mail with the secret address. The secret event here in Columbus will be held on July 30 and 31.
