Thurber House welcomes Carol Goodman

At 7:30 p.m. March 15, Thurber House Evenings with Authors presents Carol Goodman, author of five novels, including bestsellers The Lake of Dead Languages and The Night Villa. She will speak at the Columbus School for Girls, 56 S. Columbia Ave., and will read from her latest novel - released this month - Arcadia Falls, a riveting tale of passion and psychological suspense.

Goodman’s new novel opens with Meg Rosenthal, recently widowed, moving with her teenage daughter Sally to a remote village, Arcadia Falls, in upstate New York, where she has accepted a position teaching at a boarding school. She soon discovers there are sinister secrets and past tragedies that continue to haunt Arcadia school and the village. Living in a crumbling cottage that once belonged to the school’s founder, Meg and her daughter are enveloped by a sense of foreboding and then tragedy strikes again.

Goodman has won the Hammett Prize for The Seduction of Water and was nominated for the IMPAC award, the Simon & Schuster/Mary Higgins award and the Nero Wolfe Award.

Following the reading, Goodman will take questions, chat with the audience about her writing and sign books that will be available for purchase.

Reservations for dinner with Carol Goodman are $40 per person, with the group limited to 25 dinner guests. For more information about the dinners, call Anne Touvell at Thurber House, 614-464-1032 ext. 10.
