At 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17, at the Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave., Thurber House Evenings with Authors presents Adriana Trigiani, author of five instant New York Times bestsellers.
She currently has more than 3 million copies of her books in print in the United States, and her novels have been translated and sold in more than 30 countries internationally. She will read from Brava, Valentine, the sequel to her most recent bestseller and the first book of the new series, Very Valentine.
The new novel continues the story started in Very Valentine about the life of shoemaker Valentine Roncalli. A unique business opportunity takes Valentine from New York to Buenes Aires where she comes face-to-face with a family scandal and long-buried secrets that place her between a past love that nurtured her and a new love that promises to sustain her.
Trigiani’s work is being made into two movies. She has written the screenplay for and will direct the big-screen version of her book Big Stone Gap which goes into production this summer. She has also written the film adaptation of Lucia, Lucia and Very Valentine, which will be made into a Lifetime Original movie.
She has been a writer/producer on The Cosby Show, A Different World, and executive producer/head writer for City Kids for Jim Henson Productions. Her Lifetime television special, Growing Up Funny, garnered an Emmy nomination for Lily Tomlin.
Following the reading, Trigiani will take questions, chat with the audience about her writing and sign books that will be available for purchase.
