CAPA schedules Ballet Hispanico

CAPA will present Ballet Hispanico at the Capitol Theatre, 77 S. High St. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m.

 

For nearly 40 years, Ballet Hispanico has thrilled audiences worldwide with its magnetic energy and vivacious choreography. With 13 stunning dancers who are ambassadors of the rich cultural heritage of America’s Hispanic population, Ballet Hispanico offers an inspired program of duets and trios showcasing Cuban, Spanish, Brazilian, and Argentinean choreographic and musical styles.

 

Under artistic direction of Tina Ramirez, its 13 members perform works by the foremost Latino choreographers of our time as well as those of emerging artists. Their works fuse Latin dance with elements of classical and contemporary forms to create a new sphere of concert dance.


Ballet Hispanico has been recognized around the world as the foremost dance interpreter of Hispanic culture in the U.S. Founded in 1970, the company’s innovative repertory fuses ballet, modern, and Latin dance forms into a spirited image of contemporary Hispanic-American culture.
