The Greatest Rivalry in Sports... In Concert!
It’s that time of year again; Buckeye Fever is in full swing! For the second year in a row, fans of the Scarlet and Gray are invited to join the Columbus Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. for the best pep rally in town!
It’s OSU vs. Michigan: The Greatest Rivalry in Sports… In Concert! Back by popular demand, this year’s event is even closer to the campus action at Mershon Auditorium. The Ohio State University’s Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB) will co-sponsor the event.
This celebration of the storied feud between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines features musicians from the Ohio State University Marching Band, OSU Men’s Glee Club, members of the varsity cheerleading squad, and the Columbus Symphony playing Buckeye fight songs and sports-themed favorites. The performance features video footage of the rivalry’s greatest moments on a giant screen above the stage.
Guest conductor and Ohio native Scott O’Neil will lead the orchestra. This marks O’Neil’s return after last year’s successful debut with the Columbus Symphony. He is currently Associate Conductor of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He spent six seasons with the Utah Symphony, first as Assistant Conductor in 2000, then appointed to Associate Conductor in 2002. O’Neil is a native of Marion.
Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 15, and are $35 General Admission, or $50 Reserved Seating. Tickets are available by calling the Columbus Symphony Customer Service Center at 614-228-8600, online at www.ColumbusSymphony.com or at the Customer Service Center, located in the Capitol Square Walkway between the Hyatt and City Center.
