Tales from the Dad Side
Author Steve Doocy to speak in Columbus about latest work

On Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m., at the Columbus School for Girls, 54 S. Columbia Ave., Thurber House Evenings with Authors will present Emmy-award winning author and co-host of Fox & Friends, Steve Doocy.

He will read from his newest book, TALES FROM THE DAD SIDE: Misadventures in Fatherhood and share his signature blend of humor and insightful wit that made his last book, The Mr. & Mrs. Happy Handbook, a national bestseller and semi-finalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor.

Doocy's latest work launches into the pitfalls of parenthood based on his own expertise. These “misadventures” integrate hilarity with the real-life wisdom he gains from his experiences. The momentous and ridiculous moments are non-stop as Doocy takes on coaching the baseball and softball teams after reading Coaching for Dummies, gets a pedicure with his daughters, builds a tree house in the backyard and firmly resolves not to make his kids’ science projects for them —with one exception — the foam ball solar system, complete with lights.

More than just a humorous memoir, TALES FROM THE DAD SIDE offers insightful advice that puts the struggles of family and parenthood into perspective.

Following the reading, Doocy will take questions, chat with the audience about his writing and sign books that will be available for purchase. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door, with discounts for students and seniors. For more information or to purchase tickets, call
614-464-1032 or visit www.thurberhouse.org.
