Fireworks, barbecues and parades: all your Fourth of July needs is a soundtrack. Thanks to the Westerville Symphony at Otterbein College, you can cover that, too.
The Symphony will kick off its Outdoor Concert Series with “Sounds of Freedom,” at 9 p.m. July 4 at the Westerville Athletic Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave.
The program, conducted by Music Director Peter Stafford Wilson, will feature patriotic favorites such as Aaron Copland’s “A Lincoln Portrait.” The piece will be narrated by NBC 4 anchor Cabot Rea. The annual Conductor’s Club Competition will also conclude at the concert, with the winner conducting “Stars and Stripes Forever” as the community fireworks commence.
The concert is free and open to the public, and all ages are invited and encouraged to attend.
