Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and Singing Moon Records Unite to Celebrate Singing Moon Music Festival

Singing Moon Records, in collaboration with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, will be hosting the first ever Singing Moon Music Festival alongside Listening Lamp Productions and the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest.

The event, starting at 3:30 p.m. June 4 at Woodlands Tavern in Grandview, will feature more than 15 acts on two stages throughout the day. Bands will play everything from throwback country to folk-infused pop during the one-day-only event.

The band The Salty Caramels, comprised of members Angela Perley, Molly Winters and Bree Frick, are even named after one of Jeni’s signature flavors.

“We’re a little bit sweet, a little bit bitter,” says Frick, describing the band.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, known for intense and original flavors like Bourbon Buttered Pecan and Rockmill Golden Ale and Apricots, will be selling half-pints from their Mini Truck during the event.

Singing Moon Records boasts a strong Midwestern roster full of rough-hewn rock and progressive acoustic performers. Label founder Matt Sullivan describes how the unique partnership with Jeni’s came into fruition.

“Working alongside Jeni the past several years, I know that she – and everyone at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams – is proud of the tireless drive and original vision of all the musicians who spring from the nooks and crannies of the Midwest, especially those who hail from Columbus,” Sullivan says. “Working with Jeni’s is great for the festival. From the moment we hatched the plan for the event Jeni and everyone there has been behind it 100 percent.”

Tickets are $10.00 and include all-day access and a download of a compilation featuring a track from several of the festival acts. For more information or to preorder visit www.singingmoonrecords.com/festival.

Woodlands Tavern is located at 1200 W. 3rd Ave.
