The Blue Jackets Foundation, Saks Fifth Avenue and Kelly BMW present the Third Annual Black Tie. Blue Jackets. Style Show at its new location at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris on Jan. 28.
Blue Jackets fans and guests can enjoy the style show, dinner, entertainment and exclusive auction with proceeds going to the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation’s Hats for Heroes and related research initiative Flashes of Hope. With a two-year history of extraordinary support, this year’s show is anticipated to be more elaborate and exciting than ever.
The style show will feature popular Columbus Blue Jackets players and their friends and families alongside the Heroes whom the proceeds support — young pediatric cancer patients from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Working the runway together, the Heroes and players will don the hottest new fashions.
“The most special thing about the event is the participation of the Heroes,” says Karen Davis, director of communications from the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation. “People really know what they are supporting as they watch and take to heart these endearing children."
Both of the organizations involved support pediatric cancer patients. The Hats for Heroes organization raises money to fight pediatric cancer and to boost the morale of children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization that creates lasting and meaningful portraits of young children with cancer.
Boasting familiar local celebrities like in-arena host Mike Todd and public address announcer Greg Murray as emcees, plus 11 Blue Jackets players, including Steve Mason, Jared Boll and Jason Chimera, the event will surely dazzle guests with a night of style and smiles.
