Visitors to Dublin's annual Independence Day celebration will get a little dose of Motown in addition to the festivities and fireworks: The Four Tops and Boyz II Men will headline "Red, White, Rhythm and Soul" July 4 at the Dublin Coffman High School stadium.
THe Four Tops have been consistent hitmakers for Motown for several decades, making waves on the charts with classics such as Baby I Need Your Loving, Same Old Song, I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) and Ain't No Woman Like the One I've Got. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
Boyz II Men enjoyed unprecedented popularity in the 1990s with their signature blend of doo-wop, harmonies and R&B. Known for such hits as I'll Make Love to You, It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday, One Sweet Day and End of the Road, the group has sold 60 million records worldwide and won four Grammy Awards.
Dublin residents may purchase reserved on-field tables beginning at 7:30 a.m. May 6 at the Dublin Community Recreation Center. Reserved tables of 10 are available for $100 on the field. Proof of Dublin residency is required. There is a limit of two tables per household. If tables are still available, they will go on sale to the general public June 1. Free seating is available in the bleachers at the stadium.
To reserve a table without waiting in line, the Patriotic Table Partner Program provides the table of your choice for a $1,000 investment. For more information, contact Mary Jo DiSalvo at or
