The sixth annual Romancing the Grape will be hosted Saturday, May 12, 2007, from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Huntington Club in the Ohio Stadium.
Guests are invited to enjoy over 300 hand-selected wines and an array of delightful hors d'oevres from Columbus’ finest restaurants. The Huntington Club at Ohio Stadium is an exceptional and unique venue allowing guests a change of pace from a typical banquet hall, ballroom atmosphere.

* The presentation of the John Daniels Wine Awards of Excellence to one international and one local winner

Restaurants participating in this year’s event include Bexley Monk, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks, Luce, The Melting Pot, Mozart’s, The Refectory, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Refectory, Windchimes Chinese Restaurant, and The Wine Shoppe Bistro.
Additionally, a raffle drawing will be held with the opportunity to win a collection of exceptional wines packaged in wine racks to create or enhance your own wine cellar. Three-hundred and fifty bottles of fine wines have been generously donated by Central Ohio leaders to assemble these grand collections.
Tickets $25 each or 5 tickets for $100. Names will be drawn at Romancing the Grape on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 10 p.m. Winners need not be present to win.
The event will include the annual presentation of the John Daniel Award of Excellence. Two awards will be granted (one national and one local) each year to individuals who have advanced the art and science of winemaking and promoted the benefits derived from a lifetime of wine enjoyment.
Named for legendary Napa wine pioneer, John Daniel whose commitment to the production of world-class cabernet at the Inglenook winery lead directly to international recognition of California as one of the world's great winemaking regions, and served to mentor future winemakers like Robert Mondavi.
Entertainment will also be featured, including Jazz Mary Daniels, Tracy Carter and Island Breeze.
