Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Shadowbox opens Holiday Hoopla XVII

Through Jan. 2, Shadowbox's Holiday Hoopla XVIII will remind us to laugh during this stressful season. This year's production features new material and familiar favorites and is showing at Shadowbox's Easton Town Center location.

Hoopla XVIII presents new adventures for beloved characters such as enthusiastic movie reviewers John and Shelly, the Campfire Boys and Crazy Charlie, but will introduce the never-before-seen hijinks of Mrs. Boddington's 3rd grade Montessori class and Russell Mackey: Self-Help Guru.

No Christmas would be complete without the appearance of Dasher, Santa's lead reindeer who flies straight and never backs down from a perilous fog (despite what anyone else might sing.) There is also another installment of The American Top 40 with Casey Kasem, this time with co-host Paula Abdul and special musical guests Madonna, Prince and New Kids on the Block.

Shadowbox house band BillWho? rounds out the show with seasonal rock ‘n’ roll, and the musical comedy send-up The Santa Babies turn classic Christmas carols on their ears with their song-and-dance routine.

Holiday Hoopla XVIII runs Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m.; and Sundays at 2:30 and 7 p.m. through Jan. 2. Admission is $30 / $20 students, senior, active military on select nights.
